Please go through the brochure carefully before you go for registration.

  1. After your registration with one of the qualified GATE Registration Number (preferably the highest one), please add the additional qualified GATE Registration Number when you login into the portal for the 1st time.
  2. After your registration is over, User id will be sent to your registered email address and SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number. Please check your spam folder, if you are unable to see the email in your inbox. Password to be sent by email and mobile may take some time because of the network issue of the service provider. Please wait for some time in case you don't receive the password.
  3. If you have multiple qualified GATE registration numbers and you are not able to add the qualified GATE registration numbers of previous years in COAP, it may happen because there is a mismatch of information (Name and Date of Birth) in different GATE years. Please check your name and date of birth in all the GATE admit cards of different years, please write to us elaborately about the issue and include the name, date of birth and registration number year wise in the email.
  4. Please wait for a couple of working days to resolve your problems.

Go to COAP 2023 Application Portal: https://coap.iitkgp.ac.in/coap

  1. For new registration: Click Register
  2. If you have already registered in COAP 2023 then login with your credential received in Email/SMS
  3. For password recovery: Click Forgot Password

For New Registration:

  1. Enter details of the GATE Paper(s) and click Register Now
  2. You can Add Row for more GATE Papers
  3. At least one GATE Paper registration number is needed to register in COAP
  4. You can add more GATE Papers later after registration also

  5. After successful registration, use your COAP ID and password to login

  6. Click Dashboard to view Application details at all Institutes and GATE paper(s) registered in COAP

  7. Click Applicant Details to Add Row for more GATE Papers

  8. After adding the GATE paper in additional row(s), click 'Save Record'

  9. When you are completely satisfied with your entries, Click Final Submit

  10. Data cannot be modified further after you Click Final Submit

Go to COAP 2023 Application Portal: https://coap.iitkgp.ac.in/coap

  1. Login with your COAP ID and password

  2. Various Participating Institutes will provide your application details, after scrutiny, to COAP. You can view the your details in Dashboard before the start of round of offers and same will remain in Dashboard for your reference.

    Note: In case, your application detail is not appearing form a particular Institute where you have applied then contact that particular Institute for further details. COAP will not entertain any query regarding the same.
  3. When round of offers start, the received offers if you have received any offers then the same will appear in the Dashboard

  4. Select offer of your choice (radio button) then press (‘Accept and Freeze’ or ‘Retain and Wait’) and confirm it by clicking OK. All offers will be rejected when you select ‘Reject all above and wait’.

  5. The offered status will change now with your input (with success message in Green Bar)

    Note: You can exercise selection of your choice multiple times. Press “Freeze Decision” for final submission when you are satisfied.
  6. You cannot select Retain and Wait more than 2 times for the same offer. In case you select the same, the status will not be updated (Error message in Red Bar appears)

    Note: In case you don’t press “Freeze Decision” for final submission within the given time frame then the status will be frozen at the end of round as it is appearing except for the case of “offered”. Status of “offered” will be frozen as “Reject and wait”.
  7. Retain and Wait option will not appear for 5th main round and all additional rounds
